Unpredictable weather ans scrubbing in a brand new set of tyres put Malcolm in fourth place on the grid after practice.

After a very slow start things soon picked up. The few cars that were in front were despatched quickly leaving the front one - two of Percy and Hamilton. Percy had managed to pull away at the start and it was obvious by listening that Malcolm had an intermittent misfire. When the engine was not misfiring Malcolm was actually able to narrow the gap between himself and the XJ220, but not enough to take the win.
